Bluebird Beating the Heat


We've had nearly a month with no rain, and the last few days have felt like July. It doesn't bother this young bluebird, though. He and his four siblings have been hanging out in the yard for the past couple of weeks, learning about their new world.

It must be something to be a baby bird. I mean, one day you're hatched and are as helpless as...well, as a baby bird. No feathers, your eyes aren't even open. Then, three weeks later, you hop out of the nest and find, to your astonishment, that you can fly!
