Yes, I'm Alive ...and Wet

"You haven't updated your blog lately, have you?" Sandra asked. We were at our brand new Wild Birds Unlimited store, getting ready for the Labor Day opening.

"No, sometimes you just run out of stuff to write about. I griped about the drought all last year, so I thought about just running the same posts again and changing the date, but somehow that seemed intellectually dishonest."

"Well, you can't write about that now."

I'll say. The remnants of Hurricane Fay came to Greensboro yesterday and drenched...and I mean drenched...the city. 6.6" of rain at my house, most of it in less than 24 hours.

So that's the news from my garden. I've got some other stuff going on, a few rootings, still working on my new flowerbed, but I'll get to all that later on. College football starts tonight on ESPN, so I gotta go.

Oh, wait...I have to show you the most recent visitor to my garden:

Oh, cute! It's funny, I just checked your blog this very morning to see if you had posted. 'Bout time! Well, if you're not into it, you can't force it. 4 inches of rain here in Madison this week. Also about time!

Interesting visitor! I hope he doesn't cause much trouble for you. I've got the NC St. vs S.Car game on as I type. I'm guessing your the NC State fan?

Tis that time of year around here for storms and it looks like it might be an active season. We only saw about 1/2 inch of rain this time.

Cute visitor, hope he didn't cause too much trouble in the garden.

Well, I was wondering if you had dried up and blown away or if you had drowned. Now I know. Good to hear you are alive and well enough to watch a little footsball. Good picture of your garden visitor.

Glad you are still among the blogging. I see where all the rain we were supposed to get from Fay ended up. She was just a big tease here.
