Snowberry Clearwing (Bumblebee Moth) on Lantana

What better way to spend an afternoon than by following after a Snowberry Clearwing with a camera. They are also called "Bumblebee Moths" because their coloring mimics a bee, the idea being to trick predators into leaving it alone. A bird who has had a nasty experience with a bee might think twice before preying on this.
Lantana nectar must be tasty!
Catch ya' later!

I had one of these in my garden a couple of weeks ago and I was mesmerized by it. I didn't get such great photos as you did, but I did manage to get a few. This was the first time I'd ever seen one and isn't it marvelous?
